Would you be able to talk more about bright vs clear at some point! some people don’t seem to understand why as a true spring, i’m not muted/soft because my features are comparatively delicate and lower contrast. and i can’t explain it properly! 😊

I am a true summer and I dyed my hair an unnatural "red" color which is really a burgundy pink over my virgin brunette locks. In photos it can look red even though it's not.

I love that you stay true to yourself ❤ Patterns, prints and stripes are so interesting. As a summer (not sure if I’m light or cool) I find that a thin stripe or a tiny floral on a light background still feels fairly harmonious. I’m also petite so large stripes/patterns/prints overwhelm me.

I’m a true summer -- and I love stripes!!! (Feels like a confession 😂.) I also wear a lot navy blue that’s probably too deep for me. 😬

Pleeeaase can you one day talk more about contrast! I totally saw the difference and she is definitely not a winter, but it’s just hard to explain WHY. Even with the high contrast and quite pale almost icy skin, she is absolutely not a winter. I saw the difference in the colours very clearly but it’s still something i’m confused about, and I think a lot of people are! 😊

Gravitate to the clarity of the warm palette as a true autumn with medium high intensity. Just back from Iceland where much of the outerwear is borderline neon. It’s fun, maybe necessary for safety on those many dark days. Bought a wee lemon lime headband to honor the trend.

This was a super interesting one. I did see warm, and not summer, but initially thought maybe spring. i would love more content about colouring qualities. There’s a lot of confusion out there, and my own true spring result was very surprising as I was convinced i also must have autumn qualities- but I don’t have any, it turns out! 😊

That is exactly what happened to me! I am obviously warm with golden tones and dark warm blonde hair. But I assumed I was Autumn! Mostly because I thought spring had to be light blonde with blue eyes. My eyes are hazel with olive and brown and dark blue rings. Best colors are coral, yellow, orange, red, clear blue, anything WITHOUT GRAY. Gray is hideous on me. Fun video.

I 1000% trust your analysis as you are so experienced & trained, and I also def see it with my own eyes as well! No one is infallible, but I think humility is important in any field, and sometimes people can be wrong. I would be wary of someone who gets defensive or seems too invested in being right, or who is unable to explain their analysis as clearly as you do. Even in groups people can get invested in being right, about themselves or even strangers. I do find it annoying to be wrong, but it’s a learning curve! 😂

Love the sarcastic lipstick application! 😂 i have not really thought about style too much but totally see how knowing my colours is just automatically having an influence without me even analysing it. I do definitely see how each palette kind of has a different vibe to it, although personality is also huge as well!

I find very similar like-minded beautiful old vintage clothing all the time second hand that people have donated but they're in perfect condition and I cherish and wear all the time also! I also absolutely love Old World style clothing also! I feel my best in those feminine clothing. I have found continuing to grow my hair out year after year just continues to solidify the feminine feeling that my clothing helps me and reflect my true femininity. My hair is currently down to pass my belt. It is a true game changer for me. I absolutely cherish it. I also really enjoy it because the world has so many women who have short hair and shoulder length hair I really feel Old World prairie or Victoria I can do. I do think because you love feminine clothing and frilly things, and enjoys genuinely being feminine, I think you should grow your hair out. I think it would better suit you. ❤

Great to see all those examples of other true springs that would be pegged as autumn by most people (I’m one of them!) My true spring result also surprised me, mainly the “true” part. I wish more people would see this content because it would save so many people time and money spent on thinking that spring would not apply to them ❤

I’m warm spring I can’t remember what it’s called

If someone has naturally red hair at any point in their life they must be a spring or autumn in this system of color analysis? Is there any significant chance that someone with light red natural hair (blue eyes) that bleaches blonde in the sun could be an autumn?? Or are we talking major likelihood they're a type of spring?

I’d just like to say that I’m chalking up the RIDICULOUS hair colors I wore for years to the folly of youth. I look back at pictures and some of those colors are AT WAR with my natural coloring! I know what I like, but I’m leaving color analysis to the pros.

It’s really obvious to me that winter was wrong in the first case, but I wonder so much about skin qualities, as this person has such shiny skin, and most people think this looks “bright”. And I was analysed as a true spring and I see the translucency especially in winter, but my skin can also be quite dull looking at times. No specific question, just a topic that I would be interested in knowing more about 😊😊

I used to really hate warm greens but since being analysed true spring i can’t wait to try them! i’m lucky that i half expected this result, after years of much wrongness, and it just feels so right and makes so much sense! I feel sad about all those years wearing the wrong colours!

I can speak to a number of your points from my experience. I love so many of the winter colours (and cool colours in general) but I’m a True Autumn. To me, an emerald green is so much prettier than olive ( but I look great in olive). One time I wore a royal/vibrant blue blouse to a party and so did so someone else. It looked amazing on her and “meh” on me. Now I know why! It suited her colouring but not mine. I’m learning to embrace True Autumn but some colours (to me) that are cool are just so much nicer (and more available in stores). I love pink too. Pale pink makes me look sick and magenta is really off. What I do, to get a “hit” of some colours that I like but are not in palette, is to pick for instance, a warmer, not too pale pink and wear that. Or a slightly cool green but match the depth I need. However, I have also practically bought a new wardrobe of Autumn colours. When you see yourself in your best in palette colours, it really is a game changer. Just pick the ones you like the most and if you hate some of them, just don’t wear them. Love all of your videos Carol! I watch them all as soon as I see a new one. Thank you!

Long ago, when I was first married, my husband (who does not care about fashion) informed me that the pastel blue shirt I was wearing was a horrible color on me. Before then, I never stopped to consider the colors I wore...I considered my hair brown and I thought that brown goes with everything. But my hair color is actually a dark golden blonde with red tones. Since then, I've noticed that greens, browns and burnt oranges look excellent on me. Pastels make me look sick. I've come a long way since then, all because my husband cared enough to point out what I was totally blind to. 😊

No pink was one of my big sorrows at the beginning. But once I really saw what pink did to my overall coloring, there was no going back. I still like pink, but not on me. I have a salmon in the palette, but it is honestly not one of my best. I have now fully embraced a color I never, ever wore, and was super cautious about at first...orange. And WOW! It is rapidly becoming my favorite color. I'm still in shock about that. I get people who stop me on the street or in the grocery line (even the bank tellers) all the time saying things like, "Excuse me. I just want to say that orange is amazing on you!" "Orange is such a hard color to wear, and you are rocking it!" "Wow! That is your color! Wear more of it! You are radiant!" Coming from wearing black and hiding, this is a huge change. I still don't like to feel like I stand out, and I am not trying to be noticed. But what I hear is not about standing out. It is about harmony. People comment about radiance, glowing, etc. I think they really don't realize what they are seeing, but somewhere inside, they notice harmony, and an energy balance. And I feel it myself. I say give it a shot, embrace your palette and see what happens.

I love soft pastels. I gravitate towards them but I’m pretty sure I’m some type of autumn or possibly a warm spring. Cool colors drain me. I still love them, but they aren’t for me.

Is “warm-neutral” the same as “neutral-warm?” In other words does the order of words change the meaning?

OMG the difference!! The after picture looks so natural and effortless, like these colours are “part of her”. She looks much more vibrant and youthful 😊

So interesting! It can be so difficult for the untrained eye to see - I’m a true spring (yay!) and can have extremely translucent skin, but when it is noticeable I can look cool. I have a lot of pink surface colouring. And when not noticeable, people always think autumn! I’m trying to get better at seeing these things! 😊

I’m still getting used to the bright and light nature of the true spring palette, but I did notice that my husband always hated bright colours on me, but when I wear the brightest coral, he doesn’t even seem to notice.. 😊

I was born with pitch-black very straight hair but now at age 40 it's very light brown and very wavy. Has anyone else ever had that happen? It seems everyone's hair gets darker as they age? That's why you ask for historical pictures

I used to think I was a Dark Winter for a long time, then a Cool Summer then for years a Dark Autumn but the colors still looked off. An IA helped me find out I am a soft autumn but I still have my doubts (my hair is a warm brown with red highlights under the sun, my eyes are brown and my skin is warm neutral with a pink undertone).

The colour analysis checks a professional attends training and gains experience in take a lot of practice. Colour analysis to me is learned primarily through experience in executing the process with the correct colours to test and developing an eye for all of the colour analysis checks. Looking at historical pictures of colour analysis clients are so helpful as well - one look at my historical pics could save so much time and energy as one look at those rules out Winter for sure! (A Winter would always have darker natural hair than I had at age 17 in system I use). Understand why you're not a fan of analyzing celebrities who aren't your clients. But I think we like to see celebrities from our palettes because they're relational and more aspirational in terms of wardrobe and special occasion looks than everyday people we don't "know."

After my recent analysis I was thinking about contrast: mostly people see someone with say, pale skin & dark hair and eyes as automatically a winter, or a bright or deep season. But I’ve seen a few people analysed by you who turn out to be a true summer, or even muted! To have your perspective on contrast and the role it plays (or not!) would be really interesting! 😊

Not sure if I'm a light summer or a true summer, but the best lipstick for me is probably MAC Modesty. I also like Merit Milennial and Baby. For blushes I like Lawless Gumdrop, Saue Chilly in winyer, and Fenty Petal Poppin and Summertime Wine in winter. I use Fenty Amber for contour which looks straight up gray but is perfect for me.

It's just AMAZING how each of her colors REALLY draw attention to HER. Her wardrobe is Beautiful, but the colors alone Highlight HER SO WELL!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
